Micronic Amber Tubes are purpose-built for the secure storage of light-sensitive samples, using specialized amber polypropylene to block harmful UV wavelengths (190–400 nm) while still allowing clear sample visibility. Available in multiple formats, including bulk, pre-racked, coded, and non-coded configurations, these tubes support flexible workflows across biobanking, clinical, and research environments.
Examples of analytes that are light sensitive and can therefore be perfectly stored in the Amber tubes: Bilirubin, Erythrocyte Protoporphyrin or Carotene.

Micronic Amber Tubes Features
When working with light-sensitive analytes, even minimal exposure can compromise sample integrity. Micronic Amber Tubes are designed to solve that problem at the source. Manufactured from high-purity amber polypropylene, these tubes effectively block ultraviolet wavelengths between 190–400 nm—helping protect sensitive compounds such as bilirubin, erythrocyte protoporphyrin, and carotene from degradation.
Unlike traditional opaque storage solutions, Micronic’s amber material maintains sample visibility, allowing for quick visual checks without sacrificing protection. This balance makes them especially useful in high-throughput labs, biobanking, and clinical workflows where both accuracy and efficiency matter.
These tubes are available in a range of configurations to match different lab needs. Users can choose between non-coded tubes for simpler applications or 2D Data-Matrix coded options for full traceability and sample tracking. The 2D-coded variants follow ECC200 standards, include human-readable identifiers, and undergo 100% quality control for readability and uniqueness. Thanks to Micronic’s patented 2K injection molding process, the code surface is permanently integrated and cannot separate from the tube.

Options
Pre-racked Tubes
All Micronic tubes are available pre-racked upon request. The racks are based on the global recognized ANSI / SLAS standards for storage and features a laser etched 1D rack barcode.
Pre-capped Tubes
All Micronic tubes are available pre-capped upon request. There are 9 different colors for your choice: Grey, White, Yellow, Orange, Red, Purple, Blue, Light Blue and Light Green.
Sterilization using Gamma Irradiation
Upon request, Micronic products can be supplied gamma irradiated. Irradiation itself cannot guarantee that the product is free from any detectable RNases, DNases or pyrogens. Class 7 clean room prod uction is therefore an essential requirement.
Sterilization using EtO Treatment
Upon request, Micronic products can be supplied ethylene oxide treated. Using a novel ethylene oxide treatment process - Micronic’s consumable products are independently certified to be absolutely DNA- free and therefore provide the perfect medium for long-term, high integrity storage of forensic samples. Micronic is offering the DNA-free products in a special Tyvek packaging.
