For Cinco de Mayo we looked into and researched a lot of scientists that came out of Mexico, these are two of them:

  • Mario J. Molina was a Mexican chemist who played a key role in understanding and explaining the threat from chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) gases to the Earth's ozone layer, which earned him the prestigious Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1995. Molina was the third Mexican-born Nobel laureate and the first Mexican-born person to win a Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
  • Doctor María del Socorro Flores González won the MEXWII 2006 award for her patented processes to diagnose invasive amebiasis, a parasitic disease that affects millions of people in developing countries and kills over 100,000 each year. The results of 20 years of research, meet the need for improved diagnostic methods using technologies appropriate for developing countries, previously available diagnostic tests having proved insufficiently sensitive when used in endemic zones.

There are so many great people and things that are from Mexico!
